Tanning Beds Can Increase Vitamin D Production

Did you know tanning beds can support your body to produce more vitamin D? Research performed by University of Boston found that more vitamin D in participants using tanning beds. You can find their research study in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.

Lamps that produce UVB rays are a good source of allowing your skin to produce vitamin D. Many people around the world lack sufficient amounts of vitamin D in their system.

Why do you need vitamin D? Vitamin D is a vital healthy nutrient that supports bone growth and strength plus has been associated with preventing cancer. Vitamin D is produced by the body from exposure to the sun?s rays. Many people who live in environments of longer winters or long periods of being inside are at risk of lower levels of vitamin D.
